Hi Readers! How are you? Today I want to speak about a reading that has me very thrilled: "The Captain's Daughter" by Aleksandr Puskin. The tale was pubblished in 1836, during the Tsarist period, this imperial atmosphere is evrywhere in the work.
Salve Readers! come state? Oggi voglio parlarvi di una lettura che mi ha molto entusiasmato: "La Figlia del Capitano" di Aleksandr Puskin.
Il racconto viene pubblicato nel 1836, in periodo zarista, quest'atmosfera imperiale è presente ovunque nel libro.
Let's start from the beginning. The plot. The book tells the story of Pëtr Andréevič Grinëv, the only son of a noble Russian family. Destined for military service at the age of 17, he was sent after various events to Belogórskaja, a fort in the steppe, together with his faithful servant Savél'ič.
Here the boy knows the daughter of the local captain, Ivàn Kuz'imič, Mar'ja.
Life in the fort flows quiet at first, but then the protagonist falls in love slowly for the capitan's daughter . From this love a merciless rivalry will be born between the young Pëtr and one fellow soldier of his, Alekséj Ivànyč Švabrin, also him in love for the young woman.
Švabrin will be the true antagonist in the story, he will look for in every way to hamper the love among the two young people and it will push further a lot him to reach his goals.
I do not want to make spoilers, but trust me if I tell you that the story is really compelling, crossed by love, war and honor. Rich in nursery rhymes and folk songs typical of the Russian people.
Cominciamo dall'inizio. La trama. Il libro racconta la storia di Pëtr Andréevič Grinëv unico figlio di una nobile casata russa. Destinato al servizio militare all'età di 17 anni, viene inviato dopo varie peripizie a Belogórskaja, una fortezza nella steppa, insieme al suo fedele servitore Savél'ič.
Qui il ragazzo conosce la figlia del capitano del posto, Ivàn Kuz'imič, Mar'ja.
La vita nel forte scorre tranquilla inizialmente, ma poi il protagonista si innamora pian piano della figlia del capitano.
Da questo amore nascerà una rivalità spietata fra il giovane Pëtr e un suo commilitone, Alekséj Ivànyč Švabrin, anche lui innamorato della giovane donna.
Švabrin sarà il vero antagonista della storia, cercherà in ogni modo di intralciare l'amore tra i due giovani e si spingerà molto oltre per raggiungere il suo scopo.
Non vorrei spoilerarvi troppo, fidatevi se vi dico che la storia è veramente avvincente, solcata da amore, guerra e onore. Ricca di filastrocche e canti popolari tipici del popolo russo.
A work full of details that perfectly reconstructs the historical period of the rebels of Pugačëv, these events with rebels pass through much of the book. The whole story is told in firts person by the young Pëtr Andréevič Grinëv.
Un'opera ricca di dettagli che ricostruisce perfettamente il periodo storico dei ribelli di Pugačëv, queste vicende con i ribelli attraverseranno gran parte del libro. L'intera storia è narrata in prima persona dal giovane Pëtr Andréevič Grinëv.
Why read this book? First of all, the pot. It is beautiful, rich of twins and turns and tridimensional characters. The writer make us appassionate by events extraneous to us now. The historic reconstruction. Amazing. The author makes us understand the events and the Russian society of this period without wasting too much time in explanations.
Perché leggerlo? Innanzitutto, la trama. Bellissima, ricca di colpi di scena e personaggi tridimensionali. Lo scrittore riesce a farci appassionare a vicende a noi ormai estranee.
La ricostruzione storica. Fantastica a dir poco. L'autore riesce a farci capire le vicende e la società russa di quel periodo senza perdersi troppo in spiegazioni.
In short, if you are lovers of historical books that mix history and action do not miss this work.
