Entrambe le storie si svolgono nel nord dell'america nell'età dei pionieri. Il protagonista del primo racconto è Morganson, un uomo sconfitto dalle difficoltà della frontiera che lotterà contro le avversità.

Il secondo racconto invece è la storia di un medico che intraprende un viaggio per aiutare un uomo malato e si ritrova coinvolto in faccende lasciate in sospeso del suo passato

Both stories take place in the north of America in the age of the pioneers. The protagonist of the first story is Morganson, a man defeated by the difficulties of the frontier that will fight against adversity.
The second story is the story of a doctor who embarks on a journey to help a sick man and finds himself involved in matters left unresolved of his past

Le due opere sono ben scritte e facili da comprendere. Hanno un stile semplice.
The two works are well written and easy to understand. They have a simple style. 

Perché leggerlo? Perché le storie sono entrambe molto avvincenti e ci fanno rivivere l'atmosfera di quel periodo nel bene e nel male. La durezza dell'ambiente naturale viene descritta molto bene. 

Personalmente ho trovato "La fine di una storia" la più bella. Con un finale che lascia senza parole, ci fa vedere un umanità anche la dove sembra non ci sia.
Why read this book? Because the stories are both very exciting and make us relive the atmosphere of that period for better or for worse. The hardness of the natural environment is described very well.
Personally I found "the end of a story" the most beautiful. With an ending that leaves you speechless, it shows us a humanity even where it does not seem to exist.

Un bellissimo libro di poche pagine che però ci fa sognare e viaggiare.
