Et in Arcadia Ego by A. Toce e G. Savioli

Salve ragazzi, oggi vi voglio parlare di un progetto fotografico di due ragazzi molto dotati che mi ha colpito da subito.
Hi guys, today I want to talk to you about a photographic project by two very gifted guys who got me very impressed from the start.

Alessio Toce, uno dei due ragazzi mi ha mostrato alcuni lavori e ho deciso di condividerli, vi allego qui, la sua pagina di instagram, in modo da poterlo seguire e vedere il suo percorso per capirlo meglio, qui invece, quella di Gianmarco Savioli l'altro ragazzo.

Sono orgoglioso di poter dire che il primo articolo sulla fotografia di questo blog sia su questo progetto chiamato "Et in Arcadia ego".

So che forse non sono la persona più indicata a parlare di fotografia, ma ho gradito molto il gioco che fanno con le prospettive e l'ambientazione. I luoghi da loro immortalati sono posti vuoti, abbandonati che per forza di cose creano in noi una sensazione di solitudine e decadenza, ma anche spunti di riflessione. Anche l'uso della luce naturale l'ho trovata un idea fantastica per questo progetto.
I am proud to say that the first article on the photograph of this blog is about this project called "Et in Arcadia ego."
I know maybe I'm not the best person to talk about photography, but I really appreciated the game they do with prospects and setting. The places they are immortalized are empty, abandoned places that  inevitably create in us a feeling of loneliness and decadence, but also food for thought. Even the use of natural light I found a fantastic idea for this project.

Ora vediamo però più attentamente cos'è Et in Arcadia ego e cosa vuole esprimere:

Et in Arcadia ego, che tradotto porta il significato di Anche io in Arcadia, ci afferma l’onnipresenza della morte nel tempo e nello spazio, anche in un luogo permeato da una perfetta armonia delle cose come l’Arcadia. L’obbiettivo del progetto è quindi quello di andare a penetrare lo spazio arcadico che ci circonda mediante uno nuovo, dalle identiche caratteristiche ma con nostri principi. Il mezzo con cui attuare questo processo di insediamento è appunto la morte. Una morte non da intendersi come la conclusione di un ciclo o terminazione permanente del tutto, ma come possibilità di azione, un incipit a creare un habitat ideale che ci appartenga in cui operare. Siamo stati quindi artefici della creazione di un nuovo mondo, il nostro, risultato di una perfetta sintesi tra morte e la già esistente Arcadia.

Now let's see more carefully what is Et in Arcadia ego and what it wants to express:

Et in Arcadia, which means "I even in Arcadia", it wants to assert the omnipresence of death in time and space, even in a place permeated by a perfect harmony of things like Arcadia. The goal of the project is going to penetrate the Arcadian space around us with a new one with identical features but with our principles. The way to achieve this settlement process is precisely the death. A death is not to be understood as the conclusion of a permanent cycle or termination, but as a possibility of action, an incipit to create an ideal habitat that belongs to us to operate. We have been the author of the creation of a new world, ours, the result of a perfect synthesis between death and the already existing Arcadia.

Metto qua sotto alcune fotografie che renderanno sicuramente meglio le loro idee e la loro arte. Certamente più utili di tutte le futili parole che potrei usare io per spiegarla. 

I put down here some photographs that will surely make their ideas and art better.
